ZOUK FOUNDER CHARGED FOR DRINK DRIVING

The founder and the former owner of Zouk, where revelers go to party and get super drunk, has been charged with drink driving and dangerous driving. Lincoln Cheng is accused of driving while intoxicated on the midnight of 16 February this year along Eu Tong Sen Street towards Upper Cross Street. The founder of Zouk was also charged over an incident in 2015 where he allegedly drove through a red light, again at Eu Tong Sen Stree, that resulted in him hitting a taxi that was turning right to the street. He had sold Zouk in 2015 after being at the club's helm for more than 20 years.

ZOUK MAY GET NEW LEASE OF LIFE IN CLARKE QUAY

Popular local nightclub Zouk will shut down at the end of the year, unless it finds a new home in Clarke Quay. A Zouk spokesperson has confirmed to the media that it is in discussions about a possible relocation to a Clarke Quay space, which was formerly occupied by clubs Zirca and Ministry of Sound. But Zouk says that clubbers shouldn't rejoice just yet. The deal has not been finalized, they say.

POLICE RAIDS ZOUK IN WEE HOURS OF SUNDAY MORNING

A fun night out at one of Singapore's most celebrated nightspots, Zouk, ground abruptly to a halt after the police conducted a three-hour-long raid on early Sunday morning. The raid started at about 2 am, with clubbers being held back and eventually released in groups of 20, said executive editor of pop culture website PopSpoken Skii Chung, 24, who was there with her friends.

Singapore’s Iconic Club Zouk May Shut By Year End

The founder of Zouk, Mr Lincoln Cheng, says he is tired of getting short lease extensions for the popular dance club's Jiak Kim Street site. If he does not get a three-year extension he is now requesting, he will close the 23-year-old iconic nightspot for good by the end of this year. Mr Cheng, 67, revealed this to The Straits Times earlier this month, ending recent speculation as to what will eventually happen to the much-loved Singapore club.

SEVEN ARRESTED FOR RIOTING OUTSIDE ZOUK

On 30 March 2014 at about 3.56am, Police responded to a case of fight along Jiak Kim Street and spotted the victim who reported of being set upon by a group of suspects that fled after fisting and kicking him. While officers from the Central Police Division were investigating into the fight, another case of fight was reported along Kim Seng Road at about 4.57am, where another victim was attacked by a group of suspects that fled prior to Police’s arrival. Suspecting that the assailants could be the same for both the cases, the officers conducted extensive enquiries and looked into all the available CCTVs in the vicinity to establish the identities of the suspects. The officers’ round-the-clock efforts were paid off when they arrested the suspects at various locations on the same day.
