Zara workers Meng Xi & Gina bad mouthing behind their customer and refused to let us share the same fitting room even though we were q-ing together. Meng Xi was grumbling with Gina about another customer, she said in chinese "i told you to tell her if she wanted to change sizes, just go out and re-queue, no excuse! Don't waste our time!" We were thinking what kind of customer service is that?! No flexibility at all, the customer was pushing baby pram that was really inconvenient for her to re-q. the staffs should be more helpful instead of bad mouthing behind the customer!

35 year-old Cassandra Chiu, owner of Esme the Guide Dog, has left her part-time position as the Guide Dogs Association of the Blind's (GDAB) clients services manager. Her job was to act as an ambassador for the association.​ Her resignation comes in the wake of an ugly incident at the Zara branch in Takashimaya on 10th April when she and her guide dog Esme were allegedly turned away. An eye witness account revealed that Cassandra Chiu's companion had behaved aggressively towards the security guard, which prompted the manager of the Zara store to call the police.

The Guide Dogs Association of the Blind (GDAB) fully advocates a wider acceptance of guide dogs among businesses and public places in accordance with the legislature in Singapore ("RSH Limited apologises to guide dog owner Cassandra Chiu for commotion at Zara"; ST Online, Monday). However, the GDAB is also mindful that acceptance requires time and that there needs to be mutual trust, consent and understanding.

Singapore's distribution and retail arm for clothing and accessories chain for Zara, RSH Limited, apologized to Cassandra Chiu, blind woman who was turned away by a security guard at the Zara Ngee Ann City branch on Friday. Chiu had tried to enter with her guard dog Esme and a male friend, but claims that the security guard at the shop allegedly stopped her and verbally abused her. However, an eye witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed that Chiu and her male friend had behaved aggressively towards the guard, which prompted the misunderstanding.

Last night I was sitting on the bench outside TAKA' Zara when i heard the commotion. I didn't hear the initial conversation between the security guard and the woman because i was on my hp and facing the Kate Spade store direction. But i heard the security guard shouting "you called me an animal! F*** you!" very loudly in reply to something the woman said. After that, the security guard called the police.

A man at the entrance of the store prevented us from walking any further he was rather hostile and insisted even after mama explained that she is blind and needed a guide dog. He actually got more agitated and aggressive hurling abuses at mama and I. This guide dog actually heard with her own two ears this man screamed threateningly a word that mama later explained to me meant " threatening another with one's pee pee tail " He refused any explanations and insisted "no animals". Mama explained that I was no ordinary animal but her eyes and allowed into public places. However he got more aggressive with gesturing, tonality and language. Mama requested that I take her into the store to speak to the manager at this point in time.
