DRUGGIE DRIVER DROVE LORRY INTO MOTORCYCLE LANE AT WOODLANDS

The man had driven his vehicle into the lane, at the departure zone of Woodlands Checkpoint, at about 5 am. He damaged a metal fence and displaced a signboard, but no injuries were reported. The lorry was finally removed at about 10.50am. The lorry driver was later arrested for drug consumption, ICA have confirmed.

I would like to raise an awareness. I was using Woodlands Checkpoint few days back. When I was the Car’s queue at the Immigration counter, I saw the Immigration Officers PC serving the opposite of my counter. In their PC Monitor, Left Side states HOT LIST and all wanted person picture will be moving upwards. Then I saw Amos Yee(in Yellow T-shirt) picture in it. It was a shock of my life.

MAN BREACHES ICA CHECKPOINT, DROVE TO JURONG BEFORE BEING ARRESTED

At about 1PM yesterday, a 47 year-old Singaporean man ignored warnings to stop his car and drove through Tuas checkpoint uninterrupted before he was finally arrested at Pioneer Road North. The man claims that he misunderstood instructions from officers. The man allegedly continued driving for approximately 8KM before finally being apprehended by police officers, who were alerted to his breach.

MALAYSIAN TRIES TO EVADE ICA CLEARANCE AT WOODLANDS

At 3.40am on Tuesday, a Malaysia-registered motorcycle driven by a male Malaysian tailgated the motorcycle in front of him at the Woodlands Checkpoint and did not stop for immigration clearance, according to an ICA statement. One of the ICA officers quickly activated the alarm and the checkpoint was locked down. ICA officers at the checkpoint responded to the alarm and the motorcyclist was arrested.

I understand that due process must take place and it might not be so soon for the offender to be charged and convicted. But more than 40 days later, ICA still has not come clean with the public how the video of the Mercedes crashing through the barrier was leaked online. You mean the Government needs more than a month to find out who leaked the video when only ICA personnel can enter the Ops room and only so many officers can retrieve the video? This boils down to either incompetency or a total lack of transparency on the part of ICA. It is time DPM Teo Chee Hean come clean with Singaporeans.

Trespass incident: MPs call for review of border security

Urging the authorities to review and step up border security, Members of Parliament (MPs) yesterday expressed shock and disappointment at the recent breach at the Woodlands Checkpoint, which saw a Malaysian woman drive into Singapore, evade immigration clearance and stay here for three days before she was arrested for trespassing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The woman has been charged with criminal trespass and has been remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric evaluation, the police said.
