BEWARE, MAN PRETEND TO BE GRAB DRIVER JUST TO PICK UP GIRLS

A woman warned others to be careful of suspicious men who claim to be Grab drivers in order to pick up female passengers. She recalled being approached by an entirely different car with a different number plate and how the "driver" even had a friend in the car. "Be extra aware when you make a booking and who's car you're really getting into! You can never predict what's about to happen, so it doesn't cost much to put your safety ahead."

PRIVATE-HIRE CARS EMIT MUSTY SMELL, PLS DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE AIR QUALITY!

I have been commuting regularly by Grab and Uber cars for the past 11/2 years and have found that some of these vehicles, especially the older rented ones, tend to emit a musty smell from the air-conditioners. When I brought up the issue with some of the drivers, I was informed that the filters in the air-conditioners have gone mouldy as a result of poor maintenance. Some of the drivers resorted to using air fresheners, but this does not get to the root of the problem. As a safety precaution, I can only wind down the windows. The inhalation of mould particles is bad for health, regardless of whether the driver or passenger is asthmatic. In fact, it will be worse for an asthmatic person. Having also commuted by taxis for many years, I must say that taxi companies here do a good job in maintaining the overall condition of their fleets. It is time private-hire car companies strove to do better in terms of the overall cleanliness - particularly the air quality - of their cars.

IMPOSE 3/4 FUEL TANK RULE FOR CARS LEAVING SG, WE SHOULDN’T BE SO CHEAPO!

I am actually pleased with the authorities planning to impose 3/4 fuel tank rule for diesel cars too. With so many private hire cars and also many rich cheapos driving diesel cars on the roads now, it's about time we do something like this, otherwise our checkpoints will be jammed like nobody's business. I understand that there are ways to outdo it it to install a device in the car to ensure that fuel tank gauge only points to 3/4 mark and it's widely available in Malaysia. Please check on the spot when the car arrives at the checkpoint and ban this device from being installed in Singapore registered cars, and if any cars were found to have that device installed, kindly impound the cars and make sure that device is removed before the car is allowed to be in the roads and also fine the driver for that.
