The AVA confirmed that they are investigating why there were blue pellets or stains on vegetables brought from NTUC FairPrice. At least three messages have been posted on the NTUC FairPrice's FB page, asking for explanations on why there was a blue substance on the vegetables.

BATCHES OF WASH-N-TOSS SALAD RECALLED DUE TO SALMONELLA

According to an alert by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) today, selected batches of Wash N Toss salad have been recalled due to Salmonella contamination. Customers who purchased packets with the batch codes 29116, 48103, 85121, 27864, 29472, 13362, 11925, 51226 and 59462 should discard it. These packages have the expiry date of 14th Feb and contain the following mix of vegetables - watercress, sorrel, baby cos, baby spinach, salad mix, wild rocket and kale.

FUKUSHIMA MUNICIPAL GOVT STARTS FARM TESTS TO ASCERTAIN FOOD SAFETY AFTER DECONTAMINATION EFFORTS

The municipal government of Okuma, Fukushima Prefecture, has started planting rice and vegetables to test how much radioactive materials they will absorb from the stricken nuclear plant in its midst. The entire town, which hosts four of the Fukushima No. 1 plant’s six reactors, has been designated as a no-go zone since the March 2011 natural calamities caused three of the units to suffer meltdowns.
