Covid19: Singapore PR Stranded Here After Malaysia Custom Denied Him Entry

A Facebook user who claimed to be Malaysian with Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) shared how he was "stranded" in Singapore since 17 March 2020. After about a month, he decided to return home to Johor Bahru (JB). However upon reaching the JB Custom, Second link (should be Tuas Checkpoint), the Malaysian side denied him entry. The alleged reason given was because he is a Singapore PR.

WILD BOAR CAUSED ACCIDENT AT AYE, TWO TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

A wild boar caused an accident on the AYE after the Tuas Checkpoint early on Thursday morning, and caused a traffic accident that sent two to hospital and killed the animal. A male motorcyclist and his female pillion rider were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, although their injuries were not revealed.

A Malaysian motorcyclist and his pillion rider were injured and conveyed to Ng Teng Fong hospital. No drivers from the car zone were injured. The traffic situation is gradually resuming to normalcy and clearance of the fallen structure is ongoing. Motorists using the Second Link are urged to check for the latest traffic updates via LTA’s One Motoring website or MyTransport.SG portal before they embark on their journey. For safety reasons, arriving cars and motorcycles are diverted to other zones for clearance.

A 47-year old Singaporean man who breached the Tuas Checkpoint was arrested by police on Tuesday (23 June). His BMW 7-series vehicle was initially directed by immigration officers for further inspection at the checkpoint but he drove off instead. He was apprehended along Pioneer road North 2-hours later. It was believed that the man misunderstood the hand gestures of the immigration officers who suspected the luxury vehicle had under-declared the food products it was carrying. The vehicle was later found to carry 130 boxes of curry puffs and kuehs.
