A netizen has just sent news about a serious accident that took place between a drunk motorist and a Certis Cisco guard on duty at Tuas Checkpoint. The image captured by the netizen shows the unconscious and heavily bleeding guard lying on the ground.

A Malaysian motorcyclist and his pillion rider were injured and conveyed to Ng Teng Fong hospital. No drivers from the car zone were injured. The traffic situation is gradually resuming to normalcy and clearance of the fallen structure is ongoing.

Motorists using the Second Link are urged to check for the latest traffic updates via LTA’s One Motoring website or MyTransport.SG portal before they embark on their journey. For safety reasons, arriving cars and motorcycles are diverted to other zones for clearance.

A 47-year old Singaporean man who breached the Tuas Checkpoint was arrested by police on Tuesday (23 June). His BMW 7-series vehicle was initially directed by immigration officers for further inspection at the checkpoint but he drove off instead. He was apprehended along Pioneer road North 2-hours later. It was believed that the man misunderstood the hand gestures of the immigration officers who suspected the luxury vehicle had under-declared the food products it was carrying. The vehicle was later found to carry 130 boxes of curry puffs and kuehs.
