PUNGGOL DESIGN FLAW IN PARK INVITES BREEDING OF MOSQUITOES

The residents have also complained that there are now more mosquitoes in the area, and these mosquitoes could have been responsible for the numerous mosquito bites on their children. This could also mean breeding ground for diseases that the mosquitoes carry, like dengue and zika. The NEA and the Town Council have been alerted to the issue. Both have reportedly said they know of the issue, and is currently working to solve the issue. Was this a bad case of poor design concept, or both NEA and Town Council pushing the issue to each other to solve? Suggestions would be to actually make the drainage in the area better, so that water can be drained away.

HOW SAFE ARE BIG TREES FOUND BY THE ROADSIDE IN SG?

It takes a tragedy to get some things moving. Unfortunately, that is the sad fact of life, and unfortuntely, a tragedy happened at the Botanic Gardens over the weekend that makes the relevant authorities to sit up and take notice. A life had been lost in unfortunate circumstances, how sure are we that the very old trees by our roadsides are also safe? Can the authorities be certain that these trees will not be a hazard to road users? While we wait for investigations to be completed over the Botanic Gardens tragedy, let's hope the authorities do not neglect the issue of safety of old trees found by the roadside and in open-air carparks.

BIG TREE COLLAPSES AT JURONG WEST

A large tree collapsed, blocking the main roads between Block 641 and Block 703 Jurong West St 61 for several hours this morning. The tree had fallen at about 2.30AM in the morning today. The sudden crash woke several residents up from their slumber. Curious onlookers caught a sight of the fallen tree lying on the road, blocking motorists from passing through.

WHY IS THE GOVT IS KILLING ALL OUR TREES & SUFFOCATING US S’POREANS

In all honesty, what is the purpose of conducting 'tree planting days' by our politicians while there are ongoing indiscriminate killing of numerous trees not only in our neighbourhood, but islandwide ? Our green, outdoor spaces are diminishing at such a rapid space by our Govt's growth at all cost & lax immigration policies. The latter contributing to more infrastructure development resulting in less green spaces for us Singaporeans. It is suffocating to the point of unbearable.
