One School of Thought will SAY - Aiyoh, let be FAIR to DESMOND leh, he inherited the problem. BUT I say..sure he inherited the problem, since he took OVER hasn't he been "trumpeting" how much reliability has improved and didn't he GET amply rewarded for this, didnt his payout rise from S$1million+ to $2million+ over a space of 3 years or so?

The Public Transport Council (PTC) announced an overall increase of 2.8% for public transportation starting April 2015. They did however maintain fares for senior citizens, and existing monthly travel concession prices will remain. The Transport Ministry separately announced on that fares for lower-wage workers and persons with disabilities will not increase, while the monthly concession pass for persons with disabilities will remain at S$60 per month.

Chen Jian, a rail transit development research fellow at the National University of Singapore, wants to return to China to make his fortune. Chen attended the 14th Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China this week in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province. The Conference is an annual event for overseas Chinese to exchange business ideas and projects. “My expertise on building information modeling will come to its own if I move back to China, given the rail transit boom,” Chen said. He launched his own engineering consultancy in Singapore in 2012, but has yet to make much money.
