GOH MENG SENG: ADMIRAL LUI FOUGHT TO THE END & SANK WITH HIS SHIP?

To be fair to Lui Tuck Yew, at the very least, he has integrity to admit that all are not well with MRT. Unlike the General at SMRT who keeps claiming that all are well, Lui at least feels guilty conscience about the all the whole mess. However, a good Admiral should fight to the last bullet and sink with the ship, instead of running away. Change ship or ammo if you must, but you gotta fight till the last breathe. If Lui, a scholar and top talent of PAP cannot solve the SMRT mess, who else in PAP will be up to this task?

THE FAULT LIES IN TRAIN OWNERSHIP AND NOT TUCK YEW

As someone who takes the public transport daily, I can feel the improvements that Lui Tuck Yew has tried to make to the transport system. The higher frequency of trains and buses and distance based fares where commuters do not have to pay the penalty for multiple transfers. Unfortunately, he inherited a rotting apple from his predecessors such as Raymond Lim and Yeo Cheow Tong, both of whom are known to be just happy taking their million dollar salary and virtually doing nothing.

CALVIN CHENG: I AM DISTRAUGHT MINISTER LUI TUCK YEW IS STEPPING DOWN

I am distraught that Minister Lui Tuck Yew is stepping down. I have known Mr. Lui since I was an 18 year old JC student when as a LTC in the Navy, he mentored me for the Temasek Seminar. He was very patient with me and taught me a lot, despite his busy schedule. Mr. Lui is kind, humorous and does not not have a single bad bone in him. He also possesses a first-class mind.

LUI TUCK YEW: I PROMISE S’POREANS MORE RELIABLE MRT SERVICE IN THE COMING YEARS

Train commuters can look forward to shorter waiting times during peak hours and fewer disruptions from as early as next year. That is when the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is expected to complete an ongoing review and announce higher standards that rail operators have to meet. Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew revealed yesterday that the review was under way when he opened the Marina South Pier MRT station, the southernmost stop on the North-South MRT Line and part of a $357.5 million 1km extension.
