MRT STAFF DID NOT HELP MY 3 YR OLD NEPHEW WHO GOT HURT BY THE GANTRY!

A reader complained about MRT staff at Hougang station who did not help her 3 year old nephew when he got hurt from the closing gantry. "This kind of service standard is totally unacceptable. No matter what they were doing at that point in time, after they were informed, shouldn't they just come out to check on a child who could possibly be injured when the gates closed on him unexpectedly? They were given enough response time but they did nothing".

LTA: SIGNALLING IS COMPLEX BUT WE'RE WORKING HARD TO IMPROVE IT

The Chief Executives of LTA and SMRT trains responded to constant train delays by saying that re-signalling is a complex exercise. The signal testing has no choice but to continue for full days and especially under demanding conditions during peak period. They explain there are still mitigating measures like free bus services and in-station announcements to help commuters when there are disruptions.

"We are sparing no expense to improve our rail system’s reliability, including completing the replacement of the ageing signalling system, which turns 30 years old this year. We seek commuters’ understanding as we continue with the tests. We also thank readers for their suggestions and will study them."

OK TO TEST MRT SIGNAL DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAY, DON'T MAKE A FUSS

I guess everyone have been warned that there will be more train disruptions coming up as they need to test signal during the peak hours too. The reason they are doing this in June is because there many typical Singaproeans that will overseas during this period and all commuter ought to understand this. A temporary inconvenience is essential for long term convenience it's better to disrupt or even close the entire system now than during school term days. Now, I understand that during disruption is extremely difficult to get a taxi and grab and uber will surge, please understand that everyone wants to get home quickly and needs a cab, so those that are not in the bad rush, like students, singles and army boys please take the bus so that they don't add on to the surge. So please, stop complaining about train disruptions and move on, be positive.

ENGINEER: BLAMING MOBILE NETWORK IS A BULLSH*T EXCUSE BY SMRT

As a trained engineer working with radio transceivers, this excuse by SMRT is bullshit. Even if there is an interference of the same frequency band, the source has to come from a similar industrial-grade emitter and it is impossible for it to be operated via a portable miniaturized device powered with DC batteries (SMRT can blame alien technology if otherwise).
