PRC MAN TALKS TO DEAD WIFE’S BODY IN HIS HOME FOR 5 MONTHS

To keep a promise to his deceased wife, a PRC man from Sichuan province, China, kept his wife's body in a temperature controlled casket at his home and "talked" to his wife every day for 5 months. 53 year-old farmer Jiang Maode lives in a farm house in his home town. According to his son, Jiang and his wife had been married for over 30 years and were very close. Last year in July, Jiang's wife was diagnosed with leukemia.

TRANSASIA FLIGHT CRASHES IN TAIWAN, AT LEAST 45 DEAD

At least 45 people were killed in a plane crash in Taiwan on Wednesday, officials said, with local television reporting the flight had smashed into two houses after an aborted landing. Authorities said Taiwanese airline TransAsia Airways flight GE222, with 58 on board, crashed near Magong airport on the outlying Penghu island after having requested a second attempt to land. Television images showed firefighters working at site of the mangled wreckage and soldiers on the scene.

Malaysia Airlines Rerouting Flights Over War-torn Syria Instead of Ukraine

After one of its passenger airliners was blasted from the sky over eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 onboard, the ill-starred carrier Malaysia Airlines is rerouting flights away from the region -- and over war-torn Syria instead. Al Arabiya on Monday reported that Malaysia Airlines' flights from Kuala Lumpur to London were rerouted to a more southerly flight path. The new path passes over Syria and, just barely, Iraq, demonstrating how difficult it is to find paths free from conflict in volatile Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
