Our reader alerted us to an accident along Braddell flyover towards Tampines involving a Comfort Delgro taxi and a Nissan cabstar lorry. In Singapore, heavy vehicles are being discriminated by cars on the roads, often when we see cars not giving way to these heavy vehicles or in fact each other on the roads when others signal their intention.

A cyclist fractured his collarbone after his bicycle ran into a metal rod lying along the West Coast Highway. He was part of a cycling group that was going at around 40km/h when he hit the debris, causing his wheels to lock before he was sent flipping and crashing with bone injuries. He could get up and walk but had to undergo surgery. His $10,000 bicycle was totally destroyed just because of one metal bar, which may have been left behind by one of the heavy vehicles that frequent the highway. Risky siol. Our reader informed us about an accident at Yishun Avenue 8 yesterday evening. He was driving along the area when he saw a lorry flipped on its side. Soo...about to step into National Gallery when I saw this duck behaving oddly. Turns out she was separated from her ducklings 5 hours before, and came back for them. This is part of their trek back to the river. A couple of Gallery staff and I followed them part way, stopping traffic in front of Old Parliament House.
