A 52-year-old self-employed woman living with her 75-year-old mother at Block 241 Bukit Panjang Ring Road was so irritated with the second-hand smoke coming into her HDB flat that she decided to note down details of every time she smelt the second-hand smoke. Singapore is well-known for our intolerance towards abuse of power. As such, all political leaders, PAP or opposition, should be scrutinized for lapses in their fiduciary duties, on the basis of AGO reports and taken to tasks. People's power should eradicate all forms of intimidation, bullying and covering up by those in the corridors of power. We must take a stand!

It has just been announced that as part of efforts to to improve lift safety and reliability, a dashboard management system jointly developed by town councils managed by the People's Action Party (PAP) is expected to be launched later this month. As the first sentence broadly hints at, this system will only be launched in areas that are under the PAP town councils. Why create this guise of working for the people under the management of Town Councils? As the deadline had passed, both HDB and Sigma had remained silent on whether the issues had been resolved. So what now? If these happened in opposition wards, confirm opposition MPs would have been shot down by the media and Ministers alike, accusing them of incompetence.

Recently there have been highlights in the internet regarding Town Councils mindless implementation such as : putting sign stating "No Playing of Chess in Common Areas" at a HDB void deck in Haig Road, installing barriers on a walkway which caters to wheel chairs users at Bedok. These idiotic quick fixes in responses to feedback and/or complaints give us a glimpse of the working mentality of Town Councils. Seems like they suffer from a deficiency of common sense.
