The recent saga on the acquittal of a maid, Parti Liyani, has sent shockwaves throughout the Nation on the severe state of our Justice system which is in need of urgent reforms. We have always pride ourselves, as MP Jamus Lim puts it, on efficiency and not compassion or the quest for truth. Hence, the situation we are facing now is dire and fast slipping into a scenario similar to Najib Razak’s Malaysia. I wish these issues had surfaced before the elections! Is it too late now, only the PSP and WP MPs will know?

POLICE SEEKS PUBLIC HELP IN THEFT CASE AT CORONATION PLAZA

The Police are seeking the public's help for information on the man in the picture. Police stated that they require assistance on public with any information about the man with regards to a case of theft, which occurred at Coronation Plaza on 1 August.

According to a Police Media Statement, the man was last seen wearing a black shirt, jeans and a red cap.

MAN SEXUALLY ASSAULTS WOMAN AFTER SHE FOILED HIS ROBBERY ATTEMPT

Singh, who had absconded from the Reformative Training Centre at the time, was cycling in the vicinity of Serangoon Gardens, looking for victims to rob when he spotted the woman. The Chinese national was walking home using her usual route after work. He followed her into a back alley of Worthing Road beside Kensington Park Condominium, got down from his bicycle and ran towards her, brandishing a foldable Swiss army knife.

GEYLANG SHOPKEEPERS ACCUSE OLD MAN OF STEALING TISSUE, DEMAND $200 AS "PUNISHMENT"

A 80 year old cardboard-collecting man was bullied by 2 shopkeepers who accused him of stealing tissue paper and demanded that he pay $200 as punishment. Police had to intervene in the matter, which was finally resolved after the old man offered to pay $1.90 for the cost of the tissue.

42 YEAR OLD ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING FROM TOA PAYOH CARPARK

A 42 year old man was arrested for allegedly stealing from a car that was parked near Toa Payoh Lorong 8. The driver was full of praises for the police for being efficient despite him not recording any footage of the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
