IS IT TRUE THAT WORKING AS AN ENGINEER GOT NO FUTURE IN SINGAPORE?

I can't speak for 18, 19 years old young people today, but let me offer my perspective as someone who studied engineering in Singapore. I studied Electrical Engineering in National University of Singapore and graduated in 2007. Most of the people I know from my engineering course are either not working in engineering/technology field (many have moved to banking/finance/real estate) or have moved to project/product management. Very few people are still doing coding/engineering work.

Your article by one Sheryl Choo claims that all civil servants are "lazy" and are "jiak liao bis". Sorry but I know quite a few civil servants and they're neither "lazy" nor "jiak liao bi". I don't know who you have been hanging out with Sheryl Choo but those civil servants I know work their socks off and they earn a pittance compared to what others earn in a private corporation.
