There has been a noticeable silence from liberals in the wake of the Paris massacre. We do not hear the usual cry to abolish the Internal Security Act and the concomitant State power to detain without trial, to abandon capital punishment and to champion freedom of expression. Where have all the liberals gone? Gone to try quiet places with heads turned away from the nasty reality that there are bad people willing and capable of doing bad things. Really bad. And no amount of high flown rhetoric or rational debate will stay their hand.

CONVICTED S’POREAN TERRORIST SEEKS INDON CITIZENSHIP TO AVOID DETENTION IN S’PORE

A convicted terrorist from Singapore , Mohammad Hassan Saynudin (Fajar Taslim) intends to live in Indonesia when his jail sentence ends and wants to apply for Indonesian citizenship. According to his lawyer Achmad Michdan, Hassan must renounce his Singapore citizenship before he is able to apply for Indonesian citizenship. He says that Hassan dreads deportation to Singapore because he could be detained indefinitely under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

LITTLE BOYS FROM SOUTH EAST ASIA TRAINING TO BECOME ISIS TERRORISTS

In its latest effort to reach out to supporters in South-east Asia, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has posted photos and a video of Malay-speaking children training with weapons. The footage depicts a group of at least 20 boys studying, praying, eating and undergoing defence and weapons lessons in territory held by the terrorist group. It comes amid warnings by experts that ISIS is beefing up its external operations wing and courting further support in the region.

The depravity of the Islamic State terror group in Syria and Iraq plumbed new levels yesterday as it released a video showing Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh being burned alive while locked in a cage. The chilling footage, entitled 'Healing the Believers' Chests', shows the captured airman wearing an orange jumpsuit and seemingly doused in fuel as a trail of petrol leading up to the iron bars of the cage is seen being set alight.

TERRORIST ATTACK ON SATIRICAL NEWSPAPER CHARLIE HEBDO IN THE HEART OF PARIS

11 people, two of them policemen, have been killed and 10 wounded in the shooting massacre at Paris headquarters of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Five of the wounded are in critical condition. Police so far confirm the death of one journalist, AP reports. Three officers have been wounded. "About a half an hour ago two black-hooded men entered the building with Kalashnikovs. A few minutes later we heard lots of shots," a witness told local TV station iTele, adding that the men were then seen fleeing the building.
