There have been speculations going around on WhatsApp and Telegram apps that these 23 MPs will be stepping down from politics and will not be contesting in GE2020

MOM: MINISTER TEO SER LUCK DIDN’T MAKE DISTASTEFUL MIGRANT COMMENT, OUR FB ADMIN DID IT
The Facebook post, including the captions, were put up by our MOM Facebook Administrator. MOS Teo did not make those comments. We regret the unintended implications, and any misunderstanding that the post has caused. To avoid further misrepresentation, we have removed all the captions from the Facebook post. As we celebrate International Migrants Day today, and over the weekend, we would like to appeal to the public to refocus our attention on showing appreciation to our foreign workers.

When Teo Ser Luck visited their sparsely furnished sleeping quarters, he said: "Quite comfy! I learnt that some workers prefer to sleep without a mattress as they are used to it back in their home country. They find it more comfortable and cooler too!" We can't help but wonder when he tried to lie on their bed - which is nothing more than a wooden plank - did he find it comfortable? Or does he sleep on an expensive pocketed coil mattress with luxurious silk bedsheets back at home? Is this another case of Ministers living up in their ivory tower where they think that the poor elderly folks on the street collecting cardboard boxes do it as a form of exercise?

I would like to commend MP, Teo Ser Luck. He is a MP who is humble and has a genuine heart for serving the people. I am very happy to see his appointment as Minister of State, Manpower in the new cabinet 2015.

The bombshell landed when a 17 minute video surfaced which showed Roy and Han have marched towards the YMCA stage three times and disrupted the performance on stage with their unruly behaviour. PAP junior Minister Teo Ser Luck who was the VIP for the YMCA event has become the target of Roy & Han when they screamed into the loudhailers demanding him to “Return Our CPF”. Some of the supporters of Roy & Han have even gotten physically close to Teo and displayed signs of aggression.

It is both saddening and maddening that even "activists" would attempt to justify their actions with nothing more than a flimsy conspiracy theory. A wealthy, powerful government such as ours would not arrange a scheduling conflict to silence insignificant protesters; such trivialities do not concern them. Should it truly intend to prevent a protest, it can easily do so even before any of the protesters set foot in the designated location.

And once you've lost Mr Brown, you've lost public opinion. Let's call it the Mr Brown Index. You can't dismiss him as a PAP supporter (as you may former SPH journalist Bertha Henson despite her branding herself as a "troublemaker") since Mr Brown famously lost his gig as a Today newspaper columnist in 2006 after a complaint from the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts over an article he wrote. (Sure, he was later invited to tea with the PM at the Istana in 2012, but so was Andrew Loh.)

I've read his interpretation of the sequence of events on his blog, and I don't agree with some of his explanations," said Madam Aun, 55. The protesters, for one thing, did not move away upon realising the performers were on stage, she said. The performance had to be re-started when the children, shocked by the rowdy crowd, faltered before the protesters left. Mr Teo also apologised on Facebook to the YMCA: "The protesters were going after me but it affected the children and the event. For this I feel sorry and would apologise to YMCA and the children for this inconvenience caused because of my presence."

Some pretty lame comments by Teo Ser Luck about the HLP farce in Suntimes - how we should all have "a listening ear'' and things could have been done in a more "friendly manner''. I would have rather he stood up and blasted the hecklers on-site. If he thinks that would escalate things, at least blast them post-event! On this occasion, I think the majority of the population would have applauded him for being tough on the hecklers.

All four cinema chains have raised their ticket prices in unison. Although the cinemas do not have a government agency to look after them, the cinemas behaved as if they were transport companies acting under the Public Transport Council's Fare Review Committee where prices go up together! The cinemas' have colluded together in price fixing which put consumers like us at a disadvantage. What is the point of having more players to compete in the market when all of them can gang up, increase prices and Singaporeans are unable to do anything about it?
