We were doing our walkabout this morning at Ghim Moh and saw miniature posters of the PAP Holland-Bt Timah team pasted all over the food centre - even at an Taoist altar. The candidates' photos were placed to the left and right of the deity where believers prayed and placed their joss sticks. Let's have some decency and not paste our photos where people worship.

I read the news recently about Hindu devotees, who have demanded that the government grant them an additional public holiday for Thaipusam and allow them to play musical instruments during the Thaipusam procession. I fully support their actions as I think all religions should have the right to freely practice their own religious rituals. In the same vein, I think Taoists should also be given more freedom to practice their own religious beliefs. Taoists should also get an additional public holiday for our festivals, none of which are "official" public holidays in Singapore.

A Singapore couple pledged their love to each other at both a church and a Taoist temple on Sunday, in a "uniquely Singapore" wedding that featured both their religions.
