Synchronised swimmer Debbie Soh has clinched Singapore's first gold medal in the SEA Games today, when the 19 year old won at her event.

With a total score of 150.8445, Singapore managed to defeat reigning champion Malaysia who finished with a score of 146.5204 and won Singapore's first-ever SEA Games gold medal in the synchronised swimming. Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong described the stellar win as probably the best start to Singapore's SEA Games campaign ever.
