Drivers who have the bad habit of flicking your cigarette butts out of windows better beware. In early November 2017, one such car owner was shocked to receive a letter from NEA which demanded they name the driver who was driving the vehicle at the time of offence. NEA with the help of LTA took enforcement action on a tip-off from the public which alleged that the said driver threw his cigarette butt out of the car window along Tampines Avenue 5. If the driver did not cooperate with NEA, he could be subject to a fine as high as $2,000 over this littering offence.

We have previously mentioned that Police have alerted both LTA and HDB about residents' concerns regarding illegal/indiscriminate parking problems in the vicinity of Blk 401.
