I refer to the Straits Times news report “Seniors buying Flexi flats can choose fittings too” (Aug 20). As the 15 years lease 2-room flats cost as much as $46,700 (without grants) plus the cost of optional fittings – will the HDB make even more money selling 2-room flats with shorter leases? By recycling these flats every 15, 30 or 45 years against the $110,000 for a 99 years lease – will the HDB make even more money in the future?

The local chapter of a non-governmental organisation promoting the use of Internet has lodged a complaint with the Law Society, against lawyers from the legal firm representing the United States film studio Dallas Buyers Club LLC.
