STTA AXES WORLD NO. 6 FENG TIANWEI FROM NATIONAL TEAM, FENG DEFIANT & VOWS TO CONTINUE COMPETING

PRC-born National Table Tennis player and current world no. 6 Feng Tian Wei has been axed from the National Team after she was deemed unsuitable for STTA's plans to rejuvenate the squad for the 2020 Olympics. Following the table tennis team's dismal showing during the Rio 2016 Olympics, this bold move was part of it's new high performance plan. Hours after the shock STTA announcement, Feng Tian Wei announced on her Facebook insisting that she will continue to participate in international events albeit in a different method.

According to media reports, MP Ellen Lee of Sembawang GRC admitted to being apprehensive when approached by current chief MP Lee Bee Wah earlier this year to take over the helm of the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA). LEE BEE WAH CRIES AFTER ANNOUNCING END OF TABLE TENNIS PRESIDENCY

MP Er Dr Lee Bee Wah cried after announcing today (15 Aug) that she will not be seeking another term as the President of the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA). She is stepping down to give way to a new candidate to replace her, after helming STTA for the past 6 years. She shared with the media her super achievements during this time when she was in charge of table tennis, especially getting the Olympic Silver for Singapore.
