Pioneer Malay/Muslim leaders to be honoured

A COMMEMORATIVE publication, an appreciation ceremony and a series of fireside chats are among the initiatives being lined up to pay tribute to Malay/Muslim members of the pioneer generation. The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) and self-help group Mendaki will set up a joint committee to launch these initiatives. They will also think of additional ways to honour the work done by pioneers, Minister in Charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim said in Parliament yesterday. Speaker of the House Halimah Yacob will lead the committee.

US investigators suspect that Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 stayed in the air for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the details. The report comes as authorities remain uncertain about which ocean to search for the jetliner that went missing on Saturday after taking off from Kuala Lumpur.

Look at the biasedness of the Straits Times. The news of the PA's adverse audit opinions over many years is glossed over and tucked in the Home Page with a subdued headline that attempts to cast in doubt it seriousness. The announcement of the Auditor-General's audit of AHPETC is on the other hand blown up in Top of the News with an accusatory headline and repeated over and over again. Is there any doubt left that this issue is politically orchestrated and motivated just like the hawker centre cleaning incident and the trade fair standoff?
