Finally, for the upcoming SEA Games, and any other international sporting events, Singapore will stop using the abbreviation "SIN" and instead use "SGP". About time too! We are always bounded by the words SIN, when representing Singapore in sports. It is as if to say that when you are representing Singapore, you are a SIN. Even when Joseph Schooling created history by winning Singapore's first ever gold medal, he was representing SIN. Singapore have been using the SIN abbreviation since 1959. IOC, the international Olympic body, have finally approved Singapore's application to use SGP instead.
