THAI MAN SLITS DAUGHTER’S THROAT FOR SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME ON FACEBOOK

A 41 year old Thai man was arrested for slitting his 13 year old daughter's throat and locking her in a rented house after arguing about the amount of time she spent on Facebook. He was arrested at a Thai checkpoint while trying to escape. His wife said he has a violent temper and would hit his daughter for spending too much time on social media and neglecting her studies. He once threatened to kill his family because he was worried that his wife will go back to her former lover. The man was also wanted in relation to a murder case a few years back. His daughter is currently in serious condition under close medical supervision. How can he do that to his own daughter? Poor child!

2G NETWORK BREATHES ITS LAST IN SG THIS SATURDAY

So, if you know of anyone that is still on the network, time to tell them authorities here forcing you to change. I'm not complaining here, just lamenting the fact that we are no longer given a choice to lead a simple life. 3G phone means even if I want to keep away from social media, I can't. Because the phone I'm using allows me to log on to the internet, and thus, the temptation to go there and log in is always there. Sigh. Use 3G phone, battery will run out within a day. Means now everyday have ot charge the phone. Maybe even twice a day. End up, monthly electricity bill goes up. Again, as with everything, I pay more. Salary never increase. Who win? The government again lah!

HALF OF SG STUDENTS POST INAPPROPRIATE ONLINE CONTENTS, MAY HURT CAREER PROSPECTS

Interesting to read an article about how social media can hurt your job hunt, base don studies done by 4 NTU students.In their research, they found out that more than half of the 300 students aged 18 to 25 surveyed have been posting what employers may consider inappropriate content on social media. Inappropriate content, based on a survey by JobsCentral in 2012, includes drinking or using drugs, bad mouthing previous companies or colleagues and posting provocative photos or information. That same JobsCentral survey also found that 3 in 4 employers in Singapore screen the social media accounts of potential candidates before hiring staff.
