Malaysian Bank Announces ‘Six-Figure’ Sponsorship For Fandi Ahmad’s Sons

The sons of local football legend Fandi Ahmad have received a six-figure sponsorship deal from banking group CIMB to cover their living expenses, schooling and training in Chile. The deal, which will kick in with immediate effect, marks the first time CIMB has sponsored Singapore football players. The sponsorship will last for a year, after which CIMB will review whether to continue its sponsorship on an annual basis.

It is safe to say that many Singaporeans have played soccer at one point or another, whether it was during PE lessons on the school field, at the void deck or even your living room. LionsXII vs Selangor FA Full Time Report

The LionsXII earned a 2-1 win over Selangor FA in an exciting encounter at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday night, thanks to Khairul Amri's header in the dying seconds. Selangor initially had the better start, with Shakir earning a caution as early as the third minute after failing to stop Juninho from marauding into the box. Dangerman Paulo Rangel then fluffed his shot wide from outside the box, with goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud looking stranded. However, the LionsXII soon grew into the match and created chances of their own.

LionsXII end pre-season on winning note

The LionsXII ended their pre-season tour of Yogyakarta in Indonesia with a 1-0 victory over PSS Sleman at the Maguwoharjo Stadium today (Jan 10). Khairul Amri scored in the 45th minute to give the LionsXII their second win in three games – after a 2-1 victory over PPSM Magelang on Tuesday and a 0-3 defeat to Persis Solo last Saturday.
