40% or 2 in 5 Singaporeans do not get enough sleep on weekdays according to a study by SingHealth Polyclinics released today. 6 in 10 Chinese had sufficient sleep on weekdays, as compared to 4 in 10 of Malays and Indians who got enough rest on the same days. Sleep times of less than 7 hours was considered insufficient. Chronic lack of sleep could affect the body's immunity, memory, concentration and daily functioning.
