A man who punched his own sister and verbally abused his own father and police officers while drunk has been sentenced to 18 months and 2 weeks jail. The unemployed man, Tan Hiang Hock, 46, committed the series of offences in April and May when he was drunk.

The jobless woman, Chua Siew Peng, 45, was living with her sister and her mother at the sister's Maplewoods Apartments when the offences occurred in 2012. On Oct 30, 2012, the maid employed by Chua, Ms Jonna Memeje Muegue, now 28, escaped the sixth floor apartment by climbing out of a window. She suffered a fractured feet when she landed on a roof one floor below. She had indicated that she cannot tolerate the abuse from the two sisters and the mother, whom she had been working for only 11 months. The mother had already been given a sentence of 21 months probation for punching, and slamming the maid's head against the wall. The mother had also poured bleach on the maid, and offence to which Chua had also joined in. The sister, initially acquitted,, but is now facing a retrial. Chua had even appealed against her original sentence.

I was 8 years old when my sister was born (1987). Our family was poor at that time and therefore she was given away at birth to a friend of our relatives. My parents heard no news of my sister since then. As I grow older, I tried many times to ask about my sister from that relative, she would just replied that my sister has been adopted & she had lost contact with her friend whom she knew from her church . Years later, my relative passed away and so we lost the only hope in finding our sister. The only thing my mum left behind is the obstetric discharge certificate of my sister attached below. The hospital that my sister was born is no longer around. I only left with the time & date of birth of my sister. I really hope to reconcile with her one day.

My sister and i suspect that our mum (in late 60s) is having an affair outside. Our dad is working on very regular hours. Each time he is out at work, my mum would talk to this "old man" on the phone for long periods over several phone calls. We have calls details records from telco so would know that she has been calling this number. We called back and it was answered by an old man each time. She also goes out very often and each time claiming that with her RC friends for talks, activities.

I want to tell Singaporean and the world how UOB and my sister spoil my life. Few years ago, I made mistake of selling my flat. Then I went to USA. It was for cost of errands on my behalf, like purchase and mail me some stuff when I need it.

My sister borrowed ~35k from my parents to complete her degree.Of course, my parents lent her money saying that this sum will need to be repaid back because this is the little sum of saving that they have after lending her. My family is not a well to do family; my dad is a taxi driver and my mum is not working. And because of Age, he is semi retiring now. Of course, then and then, she said yes to everything.
