SINGTEL CHARGED ELDERLY LADY $256.50 FOR 50MB OF DATA USAGE

I am raising this issue for everyone's awareness, especially for those with elderly parents or grandparents using smart phones. My 70-year old mother uses a non-smart phone, subscribing to Singtel’s voice call only plan (3G Classic 100). On 5 Aug this year, she tried switching to a new smart phone and inserted her SIM card into the new phone. Unknown to her, the data roaming function in the new phone was activated and she ended up using 50MB of data. Singtel is billing her $256.50 for the 50MB of data usage.

We have a pay-for-performance philosophy that measures and rewards short-term, mid-term and long-term performance. Short-term performance is measured through a balanced scorecard approach which rates individuals against financial and non-financial KPIs. Mid-term performance is rewarded by a value-sharing bonus which is dependent on the overall economic profit of the group i.e. excess return over risk-adjusted cost of capital.

TECH REVIEW: SINGTEL’S WAVEE APP IS A BIT LIKE LINE, BUT SMOOTHER

Wavee comes after years of bitching about how Singtel can't earn any money from calls and SMSes anymore because everyone is using messenger apps. In one statement, Singtel even said that it would want to partner with companies like WhatsApp and Skype to create a "sustainable revenue model" (they probably meant that they would charge the companies for data usage costs, which would be transmitted to end users.)

S’PORE MOVIE DOWNLOADERS RECEIVE LAWYER LETTER DEMANDING S$10,000 DAMAGES PER ILLEGAL DOWNLOAD

I read disturbing news online saying that a local law firm has been going around sending letters of demand to people who illegally downloaded the Hollywood film Dallas Buyers Club. This is a common practice known as Torrenting. Based on letters already received by some Singaporeans, the lawyer letter demands that these offenders pay up to S$10,000 for each infringement of copyright. And if you are a multiple offender, you may have to pay up to S$200,000 in copyright damages or even more

[COMPLAINT] BEWARE OF MOBILE LINE SCAM ARTIST JEFF WONG JIAN CAI

So basically, I was tricked into helping this guy sign 2 lines from Singtel and starhub for some money(which he said was a token of his appreciation because he desperately needed the phone lines). He used one of the lines to purchase $500 worth of MOL credits and prepaid phone top-ups and Singtel blacklisted me and suspended the line, after finding this out, I quickly suspended the starhub line.
