[COMPLAINT] S’PORE POLICE OFFICERS ARRESTED MY FATHER WITHOUT GIVING ANY VALID EXPLANATION

I’m deeply concerned about how the police has handled the wrongful arrest of my father, Tan Chye Seng, and how this has caused unnecessary psychological distress to my father and as well as my whole family. On the 12th of March 2015 at about 8.30 p.m., two arresting officers claimed to be from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) knocked on our door. POLICE PUSHED ME ONTO THE GROUND, SAYS WIFE OF MAN CHARGED IN THAIPUSAM INCIDENT

In response to media queries, the Police confirmed that it received a report on 4 February 2015 from a 30-year-old Indian female who alleged that three officers had hit or pushed her on 3 February 2015 at Desker Road, during the Thaipusam procession. She is the wife of one of the accused charged for disorderly behaviour at the same procession. Police take a serious view of any allegation against its officers and will investigate each case thoroughly.

TOH GUAN FACTORY BURGLAR ARRESTED BY POLICE IN 6 HOURS

The police were alerted to a case of a break-in at the industrial estate at about 7.51am (Monday). The burglar made away with 3 drills, a cash register and S$4,000 in cash. After 6 hours of expeditious and thorough investigations, investigators from Clementi Police Division managed to establish the suspect's identity and on that afternoon arrested the suspected burglar along Geylang Lorong 8. They managed to recover the stolen drills and S$2,337 in cash.

PRC NATIONAL WANG ZHIJIAN TO BE HANGED FOR TRIPLE MURDER

The man who killed three women in a flat in Yishun six years ago has had his appeal dismissed. Chinese national Wang Zhijian, 48, was found guilty in 2012 of the murder of Madam Yang Jie, 36, the flatmate of his lover Zhang Meng. He was found guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder for the death of Madam Zhang, 41, and her daughter Feng Jianyu, 17, after the court accepted his defence that he was impaired by an “abnormality of the mind” in the two deaths.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DAMAGING POLICE NOTICE BOARD IN HOUGANG

A 50-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly damaging a police message board in Hougang. At about 6.50pm on Oct 26, a member of the public reported that an acylic message board used to display crime prevention advisories was damaged at the lift lobby of a block located near Hougang Avenue 3.
