The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) is looking for the group of about 30 people who rushed to help a South Korean man pinned under a lorry at Boon Keng Road. In it's Facebook post yesterday, the SCDF praised them for putting up "a display of the Singapore spirit" and added: "proof that you don't have to be in a costume to be a superhero".

At about 5AM yesterday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted by residents of a Shenton Way condominium about a potential suicide jumping in progress. Residents observed that a 33 year-old Caucasian man, who resided in the 34th floor of the condominium, had been behaving strangely and loudly proclaiming that he wanted to kill himself. When the SCDF and police were informed, a Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team was dispatched to the scene, along with fire engines and an ambulance.

A 7 year-old girl had her left leg stuck in a broken drain cover for over half an hour on Saturday. The incident took place at about 3PM at Block 820 along Yishun St 81. A fire broke out yesterday at a plastic manufacturing factory, Singapore Highpolymer Chemical Products Pte Ltd, at Tanjong Penjuru yesterday night. The fire started at about 8.30pm. Fire fighters were still at the scene at around 11pm as smoke covered the factory and nearby buildings. According to one witness, there were 2 fire bikes, 2 red rhinos and 15 fire engines.

A joint police-civil defence operation early on Friday morning saw officers carry out several raids and checks at various shophouses, coffee shops and back-alleys in Geylang. 78 women, aged 17 to 52, were arrested for vice, while 25 motorists were tested for possible drink driving at road blocks. 9 of the 25 motorists, all men between 25 and 57, were arrested for drink-driving.
