POINTLESS TO HAVE SO MANY UNIVERSITIES IN SINGAPORE?

We used to have Singapore University and Nantah. Now we have University of Singapore, Nanyang Technology University, Singapore Management University, USIM, SUTD, SIT, Yale Singapore Joint Campus and many others in the private sector joining here and there. What is the purpose of so many universities? Is it not the official view telling students there is no need for a university education when such a thought goes against the need for more and more universities?

If it is lesson 1,3,5 self study lesson 2,4,6 go to school, can I pay half of the school fees?

I had more than eight years of relevant working experience when I graduated and was registered with several professional specialist bodies. However, I still faced prejudice and discrimination for being a graduate of a private university here.

Therefore, I find it hard to comprehend what can be achieved from private degree programmes that can be completed in as short as a year. Even a junior college education, which prepares students for university, needs two years. A polytechnic education takes three years.
