Several months ago, my daughter bought an air ticket from Singapore Airlines (SIA) to travel to South Korea. However, with the increasing rate of Middle East respiratory syndrome (Mers) infection and deaths in South Korea, she has rightly decided to postpone her travel. Imagine the shock and dismay when SIA gave her these options: Take a $285 refund out of the $800 she paid for the ticket to cancel the trip, or Pay an additional $889 on top of the $800 she already paid to postpone the trip.

I am a concerned citizen who read news that some Indian pilots used fake flying licenses to fly for Indian Airlines. According to news reports, 14 pilots were barred from flying recently and the Indian government is set to arrest even more pilots with fake qualifications. I hope you do not blame me for speaking the truth, but many loyal supporters of your airline like myself are worried. We fear for our safety now, especially in the wake of all these fake degree and fake license scams.

PRC CUSTOMER BLAMES SIA FOR BEING MADE TO WALK LONG DISTANCE FOR FLIGHT TRANSFER

When I got to the SIA transfer desk at Terminal 3 to request my boarding pass for the next flight, I was told that there was no agreement with AirAsia for transfers, and that I would have to leave the transit area and check in again at the departure area. This meant rushing through immigration, heading out of the arrival area, checking in on the departure level, re-entering the transit area through immigration, before making my way to the boarding gate for my flight, which was just across from the SIA transfer desk.
