NETIZEN: PM LEE & HO CHING TOOK SIA BUSINESS CLASS FOR PRIVATE HOLIDAY TO JAPAN, RESPECT!

Flew back to Singapore from Haneda airport last night. On the same flight in Business Class was PM Lee and Madam Ho Ching who was returning from their private vacation. I pointed out to a French couple sitting next to me in economy that we are taking the same flight as the Singapore Prime Minister. They were quite shocked that our PM is flying commercial. The French gentleman told me that his company Ceo only flew private jet. So I remark that perhaps his company's turnover is bigger than Singapore GDP. He replied was No and that his CEO and company should learn from Singapore.

SQ STEWARDESS HELPS FEED TODDLER SO MOTHER CAN EAT INFLIGHT MEAL

This lady seated in front of me at seat 31J seemed to be separated from her hubby as he could not get a seat besides her (only my guess as I didn't get to speak to her). Anyway I see her having to manage the toddler pretty much herself through the 5over hours of flight. Every parent who flew with young babies would know how unnerving and tiring it is. Praying hard that baby will take to flying well, praying hard baby will not fuss too much, praying hard we don't get deadly stares from people around us if baby should cry. Managing a baby alone means there's no help and there's no chance of having a break at all. Often we just have to deny ourselves of rest and hunger so we can tend to the little one. Yesterday on this flight, I saw this air stewardess, Ms Han I think...I didn't get her full name as well, taking the initiative to feed the toddler so the mummy could get a breather and enjoy her inflight meal. She told the mum to take her time with her meal. It seems like a very simple gesture but means a world to a mum managing baby alone. Being able to just eat without interruption is such a luxury. Salute to all super single-traveling mummies who are so brave and self sacrificial in taking care of your little ones.

S’PORE AIRLINES TRIED TO “SCAM” MY MONEY WITH ITS 2-TO-GO PROMOTION

I've always have high regards on SIA's customer service quality as ‪#‎SIA‬ is one of the top airlines in the world. However, recent booking experience with SIA has disappointed me, a lot. My parents and I have made a booking on 6 Jan 2016 to BKK via SIA website. It was a 2-to-go promotion. During the entire booking process (including the booking confirmation), the total amount reflected on the website was $594.60. To our shock, when we received the confirmation email, the total amount stated was $714.60 instead!

SQ PROVIDES CRAPPY EARPHONES IN ECONOMY CLASS FOR IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT

For those of you who will be taking the SQ Econ or Premium Econ Seats, just be aware that they are now giving out these so-called complimentary ear phones for your use with their in-flight entertainment (IFE) system. While no-one expects top sound quality from economy earphones, I think the sound quality through these is so bad that they have crossed the line to become unacceptably bad. Dialog on at least one movie was almost unintelligible, and music and sounds seemed as if they were coming through a tunnel.

SIA PASSENGER REVEALS SHODDY TREATMENT OF ECONOMY CLASS PASSENGERS DURING FLIGHT DELAY

Just before take off, the captain suddenly halted and announced that a first engine was malfunctioning and that "the problem would be fixed in an hour or two". However, that plan did not materialize and we found ourselves waiting to disembark in a disorderly fashion, with the economy class people waiting for about an hour for the scarce business and first class passengers to leave in style.
