MAN DIED WHILE PARTICIPATING IN THE SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON

It was believed he ran into trouble before 10 am, where he was competing in the standard distance relay event, where a trio would each take part in a part of the race. He was in the 1.5 km swim part of the race, where he was pulled out of the waters to shore, with emergency medical personnel administered CPR on him. He was later evacuated to SGH, where he sadly died.

SGH SENT DEBT COLLECTOR TO RECOVER $147 UNPAID BILL FROM MY DECEASED MUM-IN-LAW

In response to the viral video of a CGH patient taking out his anger on a CGH staff for sending debt collectors to recover $37 in unpaid hospital bills from him, an ASS reader Mary Fook shared a similar experience she had with another government hospital (SGH). Ms Fook alleged that SGH sent down debt collectors to recover $145 in unpaid bills despite her mother-in-law passing away in hospital. Fortunately for her, she met an understanding debt collector who apologised and handled the screw up.

SGH DENIES MEDIFUND HELP FOR FATHER AS DAUGHTER HAS $100 LEFT EVERY MONTH

I would like to relate to your site, of the frustrations faced each and every time my aged father and I have to deal with the Medical Social Services of SGH whose staffs and QSM never fail to quote the blanket legislation when rejecting applications for the dispensation of the MediFund (part of 3Ms) that was meant to help lower income. I am only drawing $1.6K and the sole breadwinner having to look after my elderly father (age 62) who though has not reached 65 years old but genuinely unable to work due to osteoarthritis. After stringent "means testing", SGH claimed that I have around $100 'surplus' from my monthly salary after deducting transport, 3 daily meals, household bills and other miscellaneous expenses, hence they are unable to assist in my dad's case which requires regular follow-ups, physiotherapy with medications.

PM LEE: MR SR NATHAN WAS A TRUE SON OF SINGAPORE WITH A DEEP SENSE OF DUTY

Deeply saddened by the passing of Mr SR Nathan today. He passed away peacefully at the Singapore General Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones, three weeks after suffering a stroke. Mr Nathan’s life is an inspiration to us all. His was a story of how a young boy strove to triumph over his circumstances and make a contribution to society. He held many public service posts, and occupied the highest office in the land.
