LEE HSIEN LOONG HAMMERED WITH QUESTIONS ON AMOS YEE AND ROY NGERNG DURING DIALOGUE ON SG50

Although the dialogue was meant to be about SG50 and Singapore's future, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong found himself receiving a barrage of questions relating to freedom of speech and the pending cases of bloggers teenager Amos Yee and activist Roy Ngerng. Aside from questions asked about Singapore's relationship with China and the United states, racial and religious harmony, terrorism, and ASEAN issues, questions from the floor went mostly to Lee's ongoing defamation suit against Ngerng and the criminal case against Yee.

ANGRY PIONEER GENERATION: I AM DISGUSTED WITH THE MONEY-MINDED PAP GOVERNMENT

I am a senior citizen who is writing not just to express my sheer disdain of the pap government and its pretense of "looking after" the elderly but also to dispel the notion that seniors such as myself only rely on news from mainstream media which is totally untrue. We also read hard copies of "The Hammer" and alternative news sites like yours too. I was recently coerced into selling my 5 room back to HDB which I had purchased in earlier years as I am in frail health now after suffering a stroke due to stress and genuinely cannot afford remaining payments of the mortgage. HDB threatened to repossess my flat if I am still unable to sell it in the open market which only solves half my problem.

SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES FINALLY ACCEPTS MALAY MUSLIM SOLDIERS INTO ARMOUR FORMATION

For the uninitiated, the Singapore Armour formation do not have Malay soldiers since its inception in 1968 for unspoken reasons. The formation uses armoured vehicles such as tanks and armoured carriers to spearhead advance movements and hold key objectives during times of war. From what I heard from my enciks, there were discomfort in the region after the AMX-13 tanks were first revealed during National Day Parade in 1969 but it was a source of pride among Singaporeans and assuring for those who lived in the young nation. Our leaders then don't have a choice, Singapore was a punching bag and her survival was at stake.

SG50 BONUS: GOVT IS LIKE PARENT SHOWING FAVOURITISM TOWARDS SOME CHILDREN

What I am not happy about, is why the government is lavishing Singaporean taxpayers’ money on just civil servants alone, and not all Singaporeans. Do we not contribute to Singapore’s growth, even though we work hard in the private sector? Since this is a one-off SG50 bonus, shouldn’t we receive it too since we are all Singaporeans? What I don’t like is being marginalised as a Singaporean. It’s like a father giving his elder daughter a dollar to go to NTUC and buy a soft drink, while his younger daughter receives nothing.

CIVIL SERVANTS PLEASE VOTE WITH YOUR HEADS FOR OUR FUTURE

My guess is that since election is near, let the major vote bank of theirs – i.e. civil servants, teachers and uniform groups made happy for their continuous support. Now, let me ask this group of people: “many of you vote for them, because you are so afraid they will know and you promotions will be scuttled.” But, ask your self this question,”How can they know, if they have come out publicly that your vote is secret”
