Telegram has been a popular alternate to messaging apps such as WhatsApp. Nonetheless there are certain Telegram groups which share questionable content. A reader has informed us of another controversial Telegram group which currently has almost 20,000 members.

The Telegram group surfaced and came to the wider public’s attention in September 2019 after several women reported finding their photos shared on the platform, in various state of undress. Upskirt photos were also found of unsuspecting women. At the platform’s peak, it had between 44,000 to 46,000 members. Police have confirmed that they have arrested 4 men for their connections to the chat group.

Some of those videos and photos also allegedly include upskirt photos. The chat group is named "SG Nasi Lemak", although it has nothing to do with one of Singapore's favourite food. It allegedly had more than 44,000 members when it was active, before being taken down. However, it was understood that this group was not even the first iteration, and that once this was shut down, the group will definitely reform under a different name.
