A 2m long python was found at a bicycle parking area near Blk 113 Potong Pasir. A passer by was walking his dog nearby when he noticed the python and called for help. He was worried as the area is home to childcare centres and was afraid it might harm the children there. ACRES reportedly rushed to the scene and caught the python in only 2 minutes. They informed people not to provoke one if they see it in future as it does not usually target humans. How come ACRES can catch python in 2 minutes but cannot catch monkeys?

MONKEY EVADES CAPTURE DESPITE INTENSE EFFORTS. WHO IS THE MONKEY NOW?
As of yet, they have not been able to capture the said monkey. This monkey is certainly not monkeying around. The experts in catching wildlife, have so far been stumped by the monkey. This is quite worrying, if they are still unable to catch the monkey even after many days of trying. More people may get hurt, especially children, if the monkey continues to run around unchecked. Already this past week, five reported monkey attacks in the area have been reported.

Thanks to many of you who wrote to us concerned, about the monkey at Segar road. ACRES is equally concerned for the community and these monkeys in our garden city - where wild encounters will become inevitable as they will use the green corridors adjacent to housing estates. Unfortunately, the behaviour of the monkey at Segar Road has been severely altered due to public feeding and harassment. ACRES has met with residents on the ground on several occasions and also has educated callers who report of sightings not to feed or interact with monkeys in general.

AVA has described the situation where a monkey is running havoc and going around biting people at Segar Road as a public safety risk. They are now working with the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) to remove the monkey that has continued to wreak havoc in the Bukit Panjang estate since November last year, after another monkey was removed. After biting numerous people and not being afraid of the presence of humans in the area, and AVA only now calls it a safety public risk? Thanks, but you did not need to tell the public that. We already know, long before you did. The monkey have been a menace since at least November last year, and residents have complained since then, but only now action is to be taken? After the media finally publicise the issue?

In one case, a resident claimed that a monkey had bitten his three year old son last week, and also confirmed that at least three or four other people have been bitten by the monkeys. Some residents are now even afraid of stepping out of their flats. A resident said the monkey has broken items like flower pots, and his family has mostly stayed at home during the recent long weekend due to the fear of being attacked by the monkeys.
