MALAY BUS DRIVER GOES EXTRA MILE TO ENSURE ELDERLY HAVE A SAFE RIDE

Yesterday morning at about 11am, I took a SBS Bus 48 (Bus Plate No. SBS 8632A) at bus stop Blk 57 Marine Parade Road (Bus Stop No. 92079). The driver, a Malay man in his twenties ( I couldn't get his name) as the bus was really packed and I stand quite a distance from the driver. After about 10 minutes into the ride, the bus 48 stopped at Parkway and a group of elderly people board the bus. The driver actually make an extra effort to stand up from his seat and make an announcement to the passengers to give up their seat to the group of elderly passengers that had just boarded the bus.

LTA DECISION TO END BUS 76 TO NO ONE’S BENEFIT

In what looks to be another public consultation boo-boo by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), residents of Katong, Marine Parade, Paya Lebar, Serangoon, Sengkang, Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang will have their regular trunk service, bus 76, cut by the end of March.
