WHY IS CERTIS CISCO OUTSOURCING S’PORE SECURITY TO FOREIGNERS?

With the recent news that our security firm, Certis Cisco will be employing foreign talents from Taiwan, I am appalled and unhappy with it, talking about Certis, they handle many sensitive and confidential assignments that shouldn't be revealed to others, and with the fact that they are employing foreigners, aren't they putting our country's security at sake and our government didn't step up to say anything about it?

SINGPOST DRIVER LEAVES CAR WITH KEYS IN IGNITION, NO CARE FOR SAFETY?

I saw this SingPost delivery vehicle parked below the HDB block, but the keys were still in the ignition. The helmet was there, what's stopping people from taking the vehicle for a joyride or stealing the vehicle? I think SingPost should train their driver better to protect their property and not take for granted that Singapore is a safe place.

HDB BUILDINGS NO LONGER SAFE? CHEAP LABOUR & LOW COST MATERIALS TO BLAME?

HDB buildings appear to be no longer safe. According to Shin Min Daily News, “a slab of the roof-wall” fell from Block 51 in MacPherson Road 2 days ago. The size of the calcium silicate board which measured about “4 metres by 2 metres” – slightly larger than 2 king size mattresses – could have caused a number of fatalities. Again, lady luck was smiling at us. Just last month a concrete sun breaker weighing a few hundred kilos was dislodged from another HDB block in Tampines. And last year, a smaller slab of concrete fell from this block in Whampoa.

HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER: NEVER TRUST THE PAP, NO GOVT EVER WANTS TO LOSE POWER

I am often told that Singaporeans don’t care about the ISA. The fact that this law has been with us for nearly 70 years is taken for granted and even with respect. Our country’s stability and orderliness are frequently attributed to the presence of this law. I learnt my lesson never to trust the government in 1987! No government wants to lose power. The PAP is no exception. The ISA is too useful a tool for any government. Today, there are about 23 Muslims in prison under the ISA. Three of them have been in prison for about 14 years. We do not know if they had done any wrong because there is no trial.
