IVAN HENG: EX-PRESIDENT NATHAN WAS A TRUE PATRON OF THE ARTS

I shall always remember Mr S R Nathan with great fondness and admiration. We worked with him under the auspices of The President's Challenge to raise awareness and funds for the less fortunate, and he graced the Rice Ball on many occasions as Guest of Honour. Together with his dearest wife and family, Mr Nathan attended almost every Wild Rice pantomime. He came in his private capacity, eschewing pomp and ceremony. It was wonderful watching the show with him, laughing with audiences - looking over to me with a wink at our political satire and innuendo.

K2 STUDENTS MADE TO DO ACTIVITIES PRAISING S R NATHAN'S ACHIEVEMENTS, BRAINWASHING FROM YOUNG?

I do not understand why our K2 students have to be forced to give thanks to ex-President S R Nathan. Why is it necessary to create activity sheets for young impressionable kids to commemorate his achievements? This was shared by a parent online, who child attends an MOE kindergarten. Can give our children a break and stop trying to brainwash them from young? S R Nathan did some good things, but he was also a translator of the Japanese during WWII. Be fair and stop trying to spread such government propaganda to our young. They deserve the whole truth, not half truths like these.

JAP TRANSLATOR CAN BE PRESIDENT, BUT S'POREANS NEED TO SERVE NS

Don't you find it funny? Since the PAP government like to emphasize national identity, loyalty to country, and demand all Singaporeans to serve their "national service", why they allow the people who collaborate with the Japanese and then the British to rule our country?

PRESIDENT NATHAN ALWAYS WAVE TO US AT EAST COAST PARK DURING HIS JOGS

Whether you were kena arrow like us during NS or ownself go to East Coast Park for jogging, there's a chance that you might have seen our late President Mr SR Nathan there too. Saw him more than once during year 2000 and he didn't have a platoon of body guards, just one and a pacer running along with him. He got talk cock with some of us also so I find him quite steady.

FORMER TOP SPY DULAN WITH FORMER PRESIDENT S R NATHAN

One would have expected the MediaCorp to have more commonsense and humanistic consideration when writing out a script for a narrative, especially one like the Laju Saga. Had it not occurred to the MediaCorp to carry out a more comprehensive interview covering all the parties involved before composing the script? In the Laju Saga it is obvious that important parties had been left out for whatever reason best known to MediaCorp. If it is not too much of a loss of face or a blemish on its pride, the MediaCorp should have the civility of sending a letter of apology to ISD for belittling its role in the Laju saga.
