SURVIVOR: DRUNK BATAMFAST CAPTAIN REFUSED TO ALLOW S’PORE NAVY SHIPS TO RESCUE US

I'm one of the victims onboard of the disastrous ferry. When the accident happened, the captain had no idea what to do. I was informed there were 2 RSAF ship awaiting at the boarder of the water line dividing Indonesia and Singapore. All the captain of the ferry needed to do was to just fire the SOS flare and they will come over to rescue. I confronted the captain and asked him why won't he fire the flare. All he said to me in melayu was: "cannot, I don't want and I don't know!" Is that acceptable? And the captain cockpit was found full of alcohol stench and the captain actually vomited.

INDONESIA ACCEPTS S’PORE NAVAL HELP AFTER 17 HRS DELAY

Singapore has offered military planes and vessels to assist in the search-and-locate operation for the missing Singapore-bound AirAsia flight. One C-130 plane from the Republic of Singapore Air Force was deployed yesterday afternoon after the Indonesian authorities accepted Singapore’s offer of assistance. It took off at around 5pm and arrived in the search area at around 6.30pm. It searched for two hours before the Indonesian authorities suspended operations for the day and departed the search area. Two C-130 planes will continue the operation today.

Hijack On The Rise: What has Happened to Singapore’s Maritime Security?

This morning, there was a hijack which is believed to have taken place. The vessel was just outside Singapore, between the mainland and the well-known Horsburgh Lighthouse. At around 1000 hours, the vessel lost communications with the owner. The owner tried for about 2 hours before calling 999. To be fair, it was already not under the PCG’s (Police Coast Guard) jurisdiction since the vessel was outside the area of responsibility.
