GOVT SEEKS TO CONTROL HOW MUCH ALCOHOL S'POREANS CONSUME WITH NEW LAWS

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is working to introduce new laws on the public consumption of alcohol in Parliament early next year. Mr S Iswaran - Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry - said that the MHA had conducted a series of public consultations between October 2013 and August this year. The findings will be released this week, he said, adding that "the respondents generally supported having some restrictions to mitigate law and order issues and disamenities".
