WOMAN CROWDFUNDS FOR LEGAL FEES AGAINST NUS FOR REVOKING HER MASTERS’ DEGREE

Singaporean Jeanne Ten is crowdfunding for legal fees against NUS as it revoked her Masters' Degree due to her complaint about her thesis supervisor. She has already spent more than $100,000 and exhausted her savings. She has been unemployed since January this year. "NUS has used its own power to bully me and is able to use the legal system to its advantage as a result of the unequal access to resources". Will you help her?

MEDIA SURVEY: 74% OF S’POREANS SAY THEY ARE SATISFIED WITH GOVT PERFORMANCE

Despite the almost daily deluge of complaints about Singapore on social media – 74 per cent of a sample of voters surveyed recently say that they are satisfied with their life in Singapore. Asked about the Government’s performance since the 2011 General Election – 64 per cent said it was “good” or “very good”, 23 per cent felt it was “okay” and 10 per cent said it was “not so good or poor”.

Changing lanes at the last second, being in the wrong lane on every roundabout, and, failing to signal every damn time before they change lane. Is this what you think of when you think of a BMW driver? Not to mention their complete inability to display other emotions than smugness. So no longer can we judge these drivers as simply being incredibly smug assholes but we must be patient with them for it is a genetic disease which one day we may be able to cure.

SKIN CENTRE’S ANG MOH FEMALE DOCTOR LACKED PROFESSIONALISM WHEN ASKING ME TO STRIP NAKED

The nurse ushered me into another room, where a Caucasian female doctor asked me to strip for an examination of my skin for research purposes. I was confused but complied as I thought this was part of my treatment. When that was done, the nurses asked me to fill up a survey form containing some questions that were quite personal. I also was told to sign a form indicating my consent for the Caucasian doctor to conduct research on me.

SMOKERS SHOULD BE TAXED MORE & BUY A SMOKER’S LICENSE TO SMOKE LEGALLY

If a healthy society is what we truly aim for, then we could start by having a licence for smokers. An amount of $500 a year could be added to a smoker's income tax if he is working. If he does not pay income tax, have a family member pay for him; or he can buy a monthly licence at the post office or other outlets. Smokers caught without a licence should be fined $20, payable at any ATM.
