Another HDB Unit Catches Fire, 4 People Taken To Hospital

SCDF said they responded to a fire in a fifth-floor unit of Block 158 Yung Loh Road at about 7.45pm and put out the fire with a water jet. Of the four people taken to hospital, this include a woman who had to be rescued from a kitchen ledge by firefighters. She had apparently been on the ledge hanging on for dear life for about 20 minutes. Her neighbours saw her on the ledge, and notified the SCDF officers immediately.

MALAY TODDLER TRAPPED IN CAR AT BALMORAL PLAZA, RESCUED BY SCDF

Our reader noticed a Malay toddler being trapped in a car just this afternoon at Balmoral Plaza and thinks it was a careless mistake by the child's parent. According to our reader, the Singapore Civil Defence Force used hydraulic equipment to rescue the boy, who was excited upon seeing the SCDF in action.

FATHER DANGEROUSLY LOCKS BABY BOY IN CAR, SCDF CALLED TO THE RESCUE

A 5-month old baby boy was left in the car for almost 20 minutes and had to be rescued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. A neighbour's video showed the SCDF examining the car before the baby's father came to unlock the door and pull him out. It was uncertain why the father simply left his baby there for so long.

1 DEAD 10 INJURED AS UNCOMPLETED HIGHWAY STRUCTURE COLLAPSE AT UPP CHANGI RD

One was pronounced dead while 10 others were injured after an uncompleted highway structure collapsed along Upper Changi Rd East this morning. The incident happened near the PIE exit to the TPE at around 3.35am. As many as 60 SCDF officers were alerted to the scene. Latest update: SCDF announced that it completed its rescue operations and has accounted for all of the construction workers.

LTA OFFICER RESCUES DISTRESSED KITTY STUCK ON TREE @ LITTLE INDIA

Around 8am last Wednesday, I was heading to work and walking towards Little India MRT station when I noticed a scene right out of the movies unfolding before my eyes. A terrified cat was stuck in a tree, and the hero of the day was a young LTA enforcement officer (active mobility) who got a ladder and promptly climbed up to soothe the scared kitty. The cat must have sensed that help had arrived and it didn’t take long before the officer scooped the cat up in his arms!
