LEE SIBLINGS: LHL MISREPRESENTED TO LKY THAT HOUSE WAS ALREADY GAZETTED, DEFIED HIS LAST WISH

Another episode begins. Lee Hsien Yang and Lee Wei Ling have responded to LHL's Parliamentary rebuttal by saying he made "convoluted, but ultimately false, claims about Lee Kuan Yew's wishes". They accused LHL of trying to play with his words in order to show that LKY wanted the house gazetted. "Merely because LKY and we accept that the government has power to gazette the house does not mean that this is something LKY wished for. If the children were unable to achieve demolition, LKY made clear he did not want his house open to the public... Leaving instructions for how to deal with a bad event doesn't imply that you accept or desire the bad event". They insisted that LKY was always skeptical about renovating the house and would have made his views public if he had changed his mind. Furthermore, his "unwavering" wish was also detailed in a settlement agreement which was personally endorsed by LHL. "Is LHL suggesting now that LKY wavered in his unwavering wish?"

RENOVATION CHEATS GETS ALL THE MONEY, CUSTOMERS ARE LOSERS

The recent report on the family that ran into issues with their renovation contractors after paying $38,000 is a familiar story that seems to happen time and again. Every few months, you will have heard or read about someone who had contractor woes, where money has been paid, but the works either not done, or not completed, or worse still, no of the required and agreed standards. Normally when this happens, it is the customers who stand to lose. They have to shell out a few thousand dollars to hire these contractors in the first place. But when work is not done or completed, and the contractors run away, there is no way the customers can get the money back. There may be court rulings to award the damages and pay back back money owed to customer, but this is hard to enforce. The contractor may just remain uncontactable, their shops abandoned, and money paid disappeared along with the contractors.

HELP, D’INTERIOR PTE LTD PROMISE TO DELIVER BUT TOOK MONEY & DISAPPEAR!

I usually dun post much on fb but i feel i am obliged to post this incident to warn other new home owners. Pls help to share so more ppl will be aware of this id. So ard feb-march i went to seek ard for some id companies which offers in house loan. And so we found this id "D's Interior Designs Studio". After meeting with him he seems v confident and very knowledgeable abt what he is doing. The first deposit was 2k by cash and he even send me the ss of his conversation with his 3d designer. A few days later he sent me the 3d drawings. The next deposit was close to 6k when he brought me to select the tiles. He even act close with the salesgirl as if he was a regular. All i can say is his acting is really v convincing and good! Not only that he has existing projects to bring me for viewing. He even gave me a agreement contract drafted by the lawyer for the in house loan. He totally upped his scamming tricks! Ok, so the nightmare finally begin. He said he will start the project on 12 april but it nv did. Every week he gave diff kind of excuses & he still lie abt the tiles will rch on a particular date but when i checked with the tiles shop, they told me he didn't order at all. Until now he is totally uncontactable. He doesnt reply to my msges or ans my calls. Out of desperation i went to one of his project to check with the owner, & the owner mentioned that her work has also been delayed but at least they have the cabinets. Their loss is abt 300 plus & they will file a police report. My total loss is close to 8k. I know i will not be getting back my money and i have to work hard again. If not for personal reason that i have to move out asap i will not engage such id just bcos of his in house loan. All i can say is there is really a special place in hell for this kind of guy bcos before giving him all the deposits i told him that I am just working freelance & it really took me some time to save up these money. It's really my hard earned money! Working & having to take care of my child at the same time is not easy. My advice is u can try to get referrals from family members or close friends or just go for big ids with good reviews. It is really not worth the heart pain and the mentally torture. I really hope my post will help home owners to avoid getting scam. The company's Facebook page has been taken down. Chicken out liao?

RENOVATION SCAM: LORRY BROKE DOWN, CANNOT START WORK, TAKE MONEY & RUN!

Be careful of renovation scams from Carpentry Design Works! The company received more than 20 complaints this month alone for unfinished works and delays even though its customers have already paid thousands of dollars. Some waited weeks for plumbing or wiring works but to no avail. The company will refuse to start work and give excuses like its lorry broke down or its workers were hospitalised. In fact, its office at Telok Kurau does not even have a signboard! Apparently, CASE tried to approach them but did not get a response. Carpentry Design Works was registered only about a year ago and has been using other people's identities as its directors. A few of them will be taking action against the firm for misusing their names and letting them take the blame for its monetary loans. Police are still investigating. No Signboard Renovation, anybody?
