Despite Opposition Winning More Seats At GE2020, They Still Have More Grounds To Cover To Beat PAP

Although the WP has managed to capture another GRC owing to gutter politicking by the establishment, the PAP still controls an unacceptable 83 seats in Parliament which makes frequent adjustments to the Constitution entirely plausible without much dissent. The Sec-Gen of the WP though offered “Leader of the Opposition” title by the government in name, still has that unresolved PRPTC lawsuit hanging over his head as is his fellow MP Raeesah Khan who has been implicated in ongoing police investigations by an ardent PAP member.

GE2020: Red Dot United Introduces Alec Tok As Fifth Candidate For Jurong GRC

Red Dot United has unveiled its fifth and final candidate for the five-member Jurong GRC. Theatre director Alec Tok Kim Yam, 55, will be joining his peers Secretary-General Ravi Philemon, Chairperson Michelle Lee, entrepreneur Liyana Dhamirah and legal engineer Nicholas Tang. This team includes diverse members with a range of ages, as well as two female candidates who will serve the Jurong residents and citizens to the best of their ability.

Red Dot United announced its fourth member who will be contesting in Jurong GRC. Nicholas Tang Jian Ye is a 28 year old legal engineer at Pinsent Masons MPillay LLP. He obtained a law degree from King's College London, and his political motto is "for a more accountable Singapore."

Red Dot United, Singapore's newest political party, has revealed some candidates contesting in the five-member Jurong GRC. Red Dot United shared that three of its five candidates will include Secretary-General Ravi Philemon, Chairperson Michelle Lee, and 33-year-old Ms Liyana Dhamirah. Red Dot United is keen to contest in Jurong GRC because many of its party members grew up there, giving them an affection for this constituency.

GE2020: Red Dot United Approved As Political Party, Ready To Contest

Red Dot United has been successfully registered as a political party on 15 June after submitting its application on 26 May. Red Dot United's Secretary-General Ravi Philemon is keen on fielding candidates this General Elections (GE). With this approval by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) Registry of Societies, he believes the party is "even more ready". Red Dot United currently has three office holders: Secretary-General Ravi Philemon, Chairman Michelle Lee, and Treasurer Mr Chia Weng Lee, who is a 53-year-old business owner.

In his speech yesterday, PM Lee took credit for keeping the number of fatalities in Singapore low. That the number of fatalities is low reflects on the diligence of our nurses, doctors and other essential workers in our healthcare sector.
