32% POLLED BY REACH AGREED TO WATER PRICE HIKE

The poll had randomly chosen 1,111 Singaporeans aged 20 and above, and they were polled by phone. The surprising thing? 32% of those polled agreed with the water price hike, 43%disagreed and 24% were neutral. 32% agreed with the water price hike? Who did they poll? These people who never have to pay for the water bills, or those who have so much money that a 30% increase in price hike is small change to them?

PUBLIC FORUM ON PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CANCELLED AFTER DR TAN CHENG BOCK REGISTERS ATTENDANCE

I was looking forward to attending a REACH public forum on the Presidential Election set for today. Minister Shanmugam was due to speak and I wanted to hear what he had to say. I registered my attendance last week and was happy to receive a confirmation for my attendance. I was planning to attend with a few friends and family. Unfortunately yesterday, l was disappointed to receive a message, that the forum was cancelled due to poor response.

REACH FEEDBACK: 80% OF SINGAPOREANS SUPPORT LATE NIGHT ALCOHOL BAN

After the strong online backlash against the Government's proposed alcohol ban after 10.30PM, the Govt Feedback Unit REACH has released results of a phone survey claiming that there is strong consensus from all segments of Singaporeans, including young people, for the proposed laws to clamp down on late-night public drinking. The findings of the phone survey commissioned by REACH was presented in Parliament last week. The findings state that 81% of the 1,145 people polled said they were in favour of the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Bill.
