A father found a metal strip in a lunch set from I Love Taimei at Punggol Waterway. He ordered the food via foodpanda and only noticed the metal strip when he was halfway through his meal. He was shocked that the food handler failed to realise it and was worried about the danger of leaving a metal object in other people's food. He was relieved he did not let his kids eat the bento. The father has since written to the eatery and the National Environment Agency about it.

POLICE REPORT TO BE LODGED OVER VANDALISM OF RENTAL BIKE
It seems like the bike rental company has lost patience with their inconsiderate customers, and they will lodge a police report over one of their rental bikes that was left inside a canal at Punggol. Such irresponsible individual needs to be flagged, and police should take necessary actions against these people. This is definitely damaging of property, and if cases of vandalised rental bikes remains unchecked, then there will be more and more of such cases.

The residents have also complained that there are now more mosquitoes in the area, and these mosquitoes could have been responsible for the numerous mosquito bites on their children. This could also mean breeding ground for diseases that the mosquitoes carry, like dengue and zika. The NEA and the Town Council have been alerted to the issue. Both have reportedly said they know of the issue, and is currently working to solve the issue. Was this a bad case of poor design concept, or both NEA and Town Council pushing the issue to each other to solve? Suggestions would be to actually make the drainage in the area better, so that water can be drained away.

This might be nothing new in Singapore, as there are jams everywhere on the expressways every morning as we head off to work. But today I guess is a bit different. There is a massive accident at TPE near Punggol, where normally the jam is of the slow moving kind. Today, some vehicles are just stuck idling, not moving at all. Based on newspaper reports and reports on the radio, there was an accident that led to this massive jam. The government finally decided that they are going to build 4 new mega child care centres, for kids from 2 months old to 6 years old. The places announced where the mega child care centres are going to be built are at Sengkang, Punggol and Bukit Panjang, areas where there is a high concentration of young families. While we applaud the move to finally have enough child care places for about 2,700 children, this certainly seems a move that was a long time coming. The mega child care centres should have been around the same time the new towns were planned, instead of waiting for too long before deciding to build one. Currently, residents in these new towns will confirm that getting their kids places at child care centres are difficult. Some may even end up being in the waiting list for as long as one year! The government certainly did not plan this right. New towns were built, BTOs were mushrooming everywhere, but the basic amenities such as a child care was lacking.

People can benefit with the indoor sports hall and swimming pool, can use the facilities to play sports and keep fit. But football stadium? Apart from the running track, who else uses this? Football in Singapore not like last time, can draw crowds. So the football stadium likely to remain empty, apart from early morning and evenings where people use the track to run. Maybe some school sports day also held there. But other than that, money wasted on building a football field no one likely going to play in every day, and a stadium no one will come and watch football every week. Why waste money on this? Either do something to increase football popularity in Singapore, or scrap the plan to build a football stadium. A running track will be good enough, no need to spend excessively on taxpayers money.
